Ruby Yao

I recently graduated from the Southern Institute of Technology with a Legal Assistant Diploma. My previous experience working as a legal interpreter strengthened my interest in the legal field and gave me valuable insight into helping people navigate legal matters across language barriers. I plan to continue expanding my legal knowledge by pursuing additional courses at the University of Alberta in the future.

Outside of work, I also provide independent interpretation services to Mandarin-speaking individuals and groups, helping them better understand and access information and services within the City of Calgary.
I am passionate about building bridges between people and communities by reducing language barriers. I believe everyone deserves to be understood, respected, and treated equally, regardless of the language they speak.
